Dr. Theiner is regarded for her caring bedside manner and committed to preventative care and a wholistic mind-body approach to the well being of her patients. She is fluent in French, Creole and working knowledge of Spanish. She volunteers in Haiti to improve the well-being of its people.

 

Dr. Caryn J. Theiner’s path to healthcare started initially in research at the Marine Biological Lab. Later, during her studies at Hunter College, she worked on the phosphorylation of tau; a protein related to Alzheimer’s that became the genesis of her working directly with patients. However, she clearly knew early on she wanted to work with patients with a wholistic approach and an emphasis on preventative care. She was awarded the National Medical Fellowship Scholar and attended The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She did her residency in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center, Albert Einstein in 2004. Since 2004, she serves as an Internist at the highly regarded practice of Yaffe, Ruden and Associates in Manhattan. Dr. Theiner performs physical exams as well as diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of medical conditions. She also supervises physicians assistants and students. As a physician of internal medicine, Dr. Theiner is regarded for her caring bedside manner and committed to preventative care and a wholistic mind-body approach to the well being of her patients. She is fluent in French, Creole and working knowledge of Spanish. She volunteers in Haiti to improve the well-being of its people. Dr. Theiner is a first generation Haitian-American whose grand-parents are of French and Belgian ancestry. Her family’s legacy is also in agriculture, a sector of activity which served as a pillar for many farmers in Haiti until the 20th century.
